North County Serenity House Children Services is a comprehensive program that serves children and families. Our goal is to help families to become more knowledgeable about childrens stages of development, secure in there role as a parent or guardian, as well as a partner in their child's education through out their life time.

In the Child - Parent interaction room, parents can have quality time with their children to learn and develop new parenting skills. This room provides an environment that is child oriented to help parents feel empowered during supervised visits so the parent can then focus on developing or rebuilding a healthy relationship with their child.

Peri-Natal counselors and case managers provide pregnant women and their families with individual assessments and follow-up throughout their pregnancies. Links and referrals are provided to prenatal care, WIC, medical, and other appropriate resources available in the community.

Infants-toddlers - Provide respectful care giving by understanding each child and their family’s values and culture. The teachers individualize each child’s developmental plan to meet their own unique needs. They give each child an opportunity to explore, manipulate and engage in their world inside and out.

Toddlers-twos-The teachers build upon each child’s natural curiosity on how things around them work. They help each child to develop security through a consistent and nurturing environment. Children have an opportunity to develop at their own pace and to learn new self help skills, such as potty training, feeding and dressing.

Three-Fours –
At this age the children are wondering how and why things are. The teachers set up an environment to learn more about the world around them. They focus a lot of teaching on social interactions with their peers and provide many opportunities to learn this newly found skill. The children are introduced to academic concepts as their individual developmental progress is exhibited.
